Fused silica brick

Fused silica brick is a high-performance refractory brick made from high-purity silicon dioxide (SiO₂) as main raw material, through a process of melting at temperatures above 1800°C, molding, and annealing. Its excellent characteristics include extremely low thermal expansion, good thermal shock resistance, high purity, and high refractoriness under load. According to the China National Standard, its SiO2 content is greater than 97%.

Fused silica brick is mainly used for constructing the superstructure and bottom of glass furnace for melting low-sodium or sodium-free borosilicate glass. When the  brick is eroded, they cause little contamination to the glass melt. It can also be used as a hot repairing brick for coke oven, hot blast stove and glass kiln. Its low thermal expansion coefficient and excellent resistance to rapid cooling and heating make it capable of withstanding drastic temperature changes, and the baking time required after repair is shorter.
