Fused cast alumina block

Fused cast alumina block is a type of fused cast refractory block frequently used in furnace for producing high-grade glass. Its most significant feature is that it does not contaminate the glass melt.

Other name: Fused cast corundum block, Alumina block

Model Number: α-β block, α block, β block

Certification: ISO 9001-14001

Fused cast alumina block

Fused cast alumina block is made of high-purity industrial alumina powder, which as raw material fused in EAF and then cast. This block with extremely dense structure and has excellent alkali resistance. Below 1350℃, its resistance to glass melt erosion can rival that of AZS block. Because it contains almost no impurities such as Fe2O3 and TiO2, the matrix glass phase is very minimal. When in contact with glass melt, it rarely generates foreign substances like bubbles, and has excellent characteristics of not polluting the glass melt. It is most suitable for working tank wall, paving brick, and canal brick in high-grade glass melting furnace.

Fused cast alumina block, due to the differences in the main crystal phase, they can be classified into three types. If α alumina phase exceeds 90%, it is called α alumina block and can be used in glass furnace and non-ferrous metal smelting furnace. If β alumina phase exceeds 95%, it is called β alumina block. It exhibits extremely high resistance to strong alkaline vapors and can be used for superstructure of glass furnace. If α alumina and β alumina crystal phase are each half, it is called α-β alumina block, and it is suitable for working tank and canal in forehearth. α-β alumina block is also commonly used as lip stone in floating glass furnace.
