Forsterite brick
Forsterite brick is a basic refractory brick with weakly alkaline mainly composed of magnesium oxide (MgO) and silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is usually made by blending high-purity magnesia, high-quality olivine and other raw materials, followed by molding and high-temperature firing. The current forsterite brick is improved product. By using low-impurity synthetic high-purity olivine sand as main raw material and controlling the content of Fe2O3 and CaO, its high-temperature performance has been enhanced. It has excellent resistance to alkaline slag, high refractoriness, strong resistance to iron erosion under oxidation conditions, and good thermal shock resistance.
Forsterite brick often operates at condensation zone located in the middle of egenerative chamber in modern glass kiln.
